Prepare to have your heart stolen all over again, Atlus have just announced three new games following the monumental success of Persona 5. Two brand new dancing games, in the vein of Persona 4: Dancing All Night, are heading to the PS4 and PS Vita featuring the casts of both Persona 3 and Persona 4. On top of that double whammy of fantastical footwork, a sequel to Persona Q is also heading towards the 3DS.
The Persona series has garnered itself a loyal horde of devoted fans, the JRPG is famed for tackling a wide breadth of moral and philosophical ideas and doing so with a dash of delicious insanity. The protagonists call upon titular “Personas”, incarnations of their identity to do turn-based battle with all manner of demon. One character summons a towering headless duchess, who hides an arsenal of laser cannons under her petticoat. Oh Japan.
The spin-offs of a spin-off, Persona stemming from the Shin Megami Tensei series, are far more light-hearted takes on the realms of Persona. Persona 3, which dealt with themes of mortality and existence, is especially loved by fans, so its exciting to see the cast included in a more upbeat title. With few details for Persona Q2, both rhythm games are pegged for a Spring 2018 release.
