This book so specifically called to my interests that I struggle to believe Christie did not write it exclusively for me. The reality is that the way two women had to navigate relationships was different than the traditional narrative and a courtship-type story would be different, I would rather see stories trying to piece together how women would make a relationship possible rather than use a heterosexual framework and try to pastiche lesbians into it. We all have favorite portrayals of our adored Elizabeth Bennet and the haughty Mr. Darcy as well as other characters. Of course, no comparison is worth its salt unless it features Elizabeth and Mr. After all, can we truly ever tire of discussing Pride and Prejudice?
