We all know who the Mario brothers are like the back of our hands, and likewise, know the format of the Super Mario games – which are to save Princess Peach from the evil clutches of Bowser and restore peace to the Mushroom Kingdom.
Mario usually takes the league, leaving Luigi behind to tend to… something or other. However, Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga was the first game in which the pair worked side by side during one fateful Princess Peach-saving adventure and it became such a big hit then people wanted more. And Nintendo answered with four more prequels/sequels – all focused on Mario and Luigi and their travelling adventures.
Well now, Nintendo have comes to surprise fans once again, releasing Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser’s Minions, which is a remake of the original Superstar Saga with improvements to the gameplay and graphics. All while maintaining the charming sprite style of the original – which is a good call on their part in bringing the nostalgia factor back to the old, and new fans.
But what’s better than one game? Obviously, it’s two games for the price of one, as the game will also a side story called Bowser’s Minions, which features an “untold story” of Bowser being kidnapped by a mysterious flying figure – and his minions have to go to save him.
From the Nintendo trailer, it seems to be a real time battle strategy where your party will automatically clash with the other team in which you will aid with a special move, possibly depending on your team leader (who is shown to have red flag on their head, as amusingly explained in a fourth-wall breaking manner.)
Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser’s Minions is set to be released on October 6th only on 3DS.
