Yesterday at New York Comic Con, Image held a press junket to talk about Robert Kirkman’s new comic at their Skybound imprint – Oblivion Song.
Oblivion Song pairs The Walking Dead’s Robert Kirkman, with co-creator and Italian artist Lorenzo de Felici in his first American comic. Also joining them on the team, are colourist Annalisa Leoni and letterer Rus Wooton.
Image’s official synopsis for the comic says:
“A decade ago 300,000 citizens of Philadelphia were suddenly lost in Oblivion. The government made every attempt to recover them but after many years they gave up. Nathan Cole… won’t. He makes daily trips, risking his life to try and rescue those lost, alone and afraid, living in the apocalyptic hellscape of Oblivion. But maybe… Nathan is looking for something else? Why can’t he resist the siren call of the Oblivion Song?”
The artwork on the series sees Felici’s linework enhanced by Leoni’s colours that take us between our world, and that of Oblivion. It will be an ongoing series, promising an amazing twist six issues in.
Oblivion Song will be available in all good comic retailer from March 7th, 2018. In the meantime, check out the preview pages below:
