At this week’s New York Comic Con, DC released some new artwork and details about some upcoming projects at their Vertigo/Young Animal panel.
First up, Motherlands, from writer Si Spurrier and artist Rachael Stott, is a sci-fi series set in the future where universe-hopping bounty hunters are the new celebrities. A hunter shunning the spotlight, Tab, finds herself in a race for her greatest prize yet, but in order to identify her target, she’ll have to work with the most famous bounty hunter of all time, and Tab’s fiercest rival – her mother. This six-issue series will launch January 31st, 2018.
Deathbed, from writer Joshua Williamson and artist Riley Rossmo, sees a former adventurer turned recluse, who has re-emerged 20 years later. When reporter Valentine Richards is hired to write his story, she soon finds herself in a world of insane violence and supernatural adventures. This six-issue series debuts on February 21st, 2018.
Milk Wars will crossover DC’s Young Animal imprint with DCU characters – beginning with a Justice League/Doom Patrol Special from Steve Orlando and Gerard Way. Following this, will be Shade, The Changing Girl/Wonder Woman Special, Mother Panic/Batman Special, Cave Carson/Swamp Thing Special and Doom Patrol/Justice League Special. This weekly crossover series begins on January 31st, 2018.
Lastly, Eternity Girl, the new series from Eisner and GLAAD-nominated writer Magdalene Visaggio and Eisner award-winning artist Sonny Liew follows former secret agent Caroline Sharp, who cannot die. Her solution? Destroy the universe first. This six-issue series launches in March 2018, from Young Animal.
