Oscars 2018: The Winners The full list of those lucky enough to walk away with Oscar

Jimmy Kimmel hosted the 90th Annual Academy Awards last night, topping off what has been a tumultuous year in the industry.

After last year’s calamitous ending, that saw La La Land falsely named as Best Picture, humour reigned supreme this time around, however, all in attendance were acutely aware of the rampant misconduct that has been spoken about so much over this year’s awards season, including the ‘Me Too’ and ‘Time’s Up’ movements. Disgraced producer Harvey Weinstein was named and shamed by Kimmel, and many of the presenters and winners called to attention some of the most prominent issues facing those in the industry today, such as the inequality between genders and minorities.

Unsurprisingly, films such as The Shape of Water, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, and Darkest Hour came out on top, however there were a few welcome surprises, such as Jordan Peele making history as the first black writer to win the award for Best Original Screenplay, and cinematographer Roger Deakins finally winning his first Academy Award.
